Unity Essence

Unity - celebrating and accepting difference, harmonising, loving, gentle, calming, peaceful, soothing, confidence.

These pretty pink and white flowers are to be found growing in a sheltered courtyard at the foot of a large banana tree. They are surrounded by many other larger species of trees and shrubs and they are very small and gentle in comparison and seem to be happy that this is so. They grow on strong woody stems with their leaves fanning out behind them showing them off to perfection.  Each flower has five shapely petals clearly separated from each other with a lovely splash of deep pink at their centre.

The feeling from these flowers is very loving and simple. It gets right into the heart and is gentle and calming - relieving the heart of pain. It relaxes the system bringing sure relief for children who are suffering in any way by calming, loving and centring their system. I love its calming, soothing ways; it is like a dummy to a child. I sat on a wall near these flowers and felt a gentle rocking movement and a knowing smile. Small babies and children will adore this essence. It can be taken just because it feels wonderful and beneficial.

The main message conveyed to me is that although they grow amongst many larger species they are all in harmony and respect each other. True beauty resides in the small flower as well as the large powerful trees. Each has its own character but they blend in perfect harmony. This is conveyed in the essence as its main purpose is for those who are 'different' and are not feeling happy about it. The difference maybe in having unusual skills and talents; or being from a different ethnic background; or having a physical disability, whatever the difference is, this essence helps us to celebrate our differences and to be happy with them. This means accepting ourselves as we are and not feeling that we must be like anyone else. The lesson is that everything and everyone is unique in their own way, you cannot be what you are not, but you can learn to feel in harmony with who you are and to find an acceptance of yourself within you.

This is particularly useful in the classroom situation, or anywhere where there are gatherings of many varied ethnic and cultural groups. It can be used in a spray in a classroom before the children enter and will enhance their connections with each other bringing more harmony and love. Children or teenagers who are feeling isolated because they feel different could use it as a body spray. Handicapped children, or any child who is not feeling happy with themselves as they are - on any level of their being, will benefit and soon start to appreciate their own skills and talents. Often it is their own feelings towards themselves; a wishing that they could be like someone else, that draws forth difficult behaviour towards them. For any who have decided that it is best to be as invisible as possible this essence will soon give the confidence to help them to be more social and outgoing.

This essence can be used when children are depressed and sad and also in the home where there is disharmony amongst the children of the household. In particular it is helpful for children who are adopted or fostered and need to feel 'at home' in a new environment. It can be used for all in the household to help them to adjust to each other. It is also an excellent essence along with White Spindle Flower for bullying. Here, it is often the sensitive child who is feeling isolated. This combination will give appreciation of self and also protection.

Many years ago, I found myself in a situation of being different when my sixth sense started to open and I felt out of step with those around me. It can take time to accept oneself as developing in a more unusual way to ones fellow human beings and it takes courage not to close down and disbelieve what is happening. This essence will help you to believe in yourself and gain the confidence to accept your special gift. I have come across young people who are a little scared by their sixth sense opening, especially if their friends tease them about it, and to counteract this take a drop of Peach Angel Flower with this essence for the realisation that there are others like yourself. If you call out on an inner level to find them, they will surely come your way.   

Teenagers are particularly vulnerable in our schools today where there is a strong desire to conform to the norm and not to stand out in any way and it is sometimes difficult for the quieter more sensitive shy ones to be themselves. This essence will bring out their individuality as well as help them to see and sense the individuality of those around them and to be able to appreciate their differences, instead of feeling that they need to switch off being who they are and behave like their peers.

Adults can benefit from this essence when working with their inner child to heal wounds from being isolated and not fitting in as a child. Also there are many situations in our lives when we need to accept the differences of other people and not judge them. Where there is difficulty with this, this essence can be very helpful in changing and harmonising viewpoints.

As this is one of our gentlest essences, it is a very good shock remedy and goes well with Purple Trumpet and Blue Lady.
